Committees

We have many different volunteer committees to be a part of as listed below. Please reach out to us and get involved.

Community Service Committee plans and executes Community Service Day each Spring. A non-profit organization is brought in for each grade and the students participate in a community service project. Connections Committee welcomes new families and builds community at CWES. Our popular programs include: parent coffee hours, movie night, the Summer Buddy Program (which matches new families with current CWES families over the summer) and magnet information nights. Holiday Shop Committee organizes and run a holiday shop each year for the students to purchase holiday gifts for loved ones. The holiday shop is not meant to be a fundraising activity. Contact Brannan Armstrong for more information.

Hospitality Committee hosts many events throughout the year to show our appreciation towards staff including back-to-school lunches and breakfasts, co-host ice cream social, staff appreciation luncheon, gifts for music staff during concerts, Teacher Appreciation week events, gifts for secretary day, nurses day, Contact Lauren Thompson at [email protected]

Membership Committee is responsible for selling memberships to the PTA to both parents and teachers. Membership committee members help at many of the beginning of the year events (Sneak-A-Peek, Back to School Night and Ice Cream Social) by setting up a table and collecting membership forms and money. Spaghetti Dinner Committee plans and executes a Spaghetti Dinner night in March. Every other year (opposite year from Fun Fair) the Spaghetti Dinner also has a silent auction. Contact Shannon Casey at [email protected]

Yearbook Committee photographs and records the memories for the school year and publishes a yearbook for the students. Contact Laura Romanczyk or Kami Boyd at [email protected]

Business Partnerships (Box tops) Chairperson collects, counts and submits boxtops. Contact Brianne Flaherty at [email protected]

Business Partnerships (Restaurants) Chairperson seeks and maintains relationships with local businesses for fundraising nights. Contact Lyndsey Overstreet for more information.

Facebook Administrator posts information onto the Crofton Woods Facebook page. Contact Sarah Cohen for more information at [email protected]

Fundraising Chairperson The Fundraising Committee oversees PTA fundraising efforts and works with the school community of parents and staff to determine where funds are to be allocated. All funds raised are used directly for the school. Fundraising activities include but are not limited to: Boosterthon/Fun Fair (done on opposite years), Spriti nights (Chick-fil-a, Leo's, Mama Angela's, Nandos), Spaghetti Dinner, Silent Auction, and more. School Apparel Chairperson orders and sells school spirit wear at events like Sneak A Peek, Back to School Night and Holiday Shop. Contact Brannan Ville

Website Administrator maintains website including managing the site as well as uploading and updating content.
